Synopsis
Series examining obesity, using case studies and interviews with leading scientists. In 3 parts: 1) Born to Be Fat: research has established a link between obesity and the absence of leptin, a hormone that controls the appetite, suggesting that some people are genetically disposed to being fat; 2) Fighting Fat (in ‘Radio Times’as ‘Fixing Fat’): follows a number of people employing various stragies for losing weight; 3) Living on Air: research into eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia nervosa suggests they may have biological origins.
