Psychomotor Therapy of Anorexia Nervosa Patients

Synopsis: A picture of psychomotor therapy, which focuses on the changing the patient’s body perception. A newly hospitalised patients is followed during the first week of therapy. Four psychomotor objectives can be formulated: to achieve a realistic body image, to learn to enjoy one’s body again, to become aware of and to control one’s hyperactivity, to develop social skills. The individual objectives are pursued systematically during therapeutic sessions held three times each week. All the evaluation and observation techniques are repeated at the end of the treatment to obtain an objective picture of the patient’s evolution.
