Synopsis

Demonstrates the Japanese 5S approach to housekeeping activity in manufacturing industries: seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, shitsuke - cleaning up, organising, cleaning, standardising, and discipline - within a total productivity maintenance scheme. Uses footage of Japanese factories, including the Aisin Seiki Pump Garden, to show the standards of housekeeping that can be obtained in a traditional manufacturing plant.
