Electromagnetic Interference and Vehicle Electronics
- Synopsis
- Shows work on problems caused in car electronic systems by external electromagnetic radiation, in order to establish the necessary standards and regulations. A research project compares data from the variety of test methods in use. Shows the Department of Transport Stripline test for anti-lock brake systems, which gives susceptibility thresholds for wheel speed sensors, controller, solenoid brake actuators and wiring loom. Compares the results of these bench tests with whole vehicle tests, allowing the validation of such simple test methods as Stripline and the bulk current injection test, helping to establsh a new European standard and ensure the reliability of future vehicle electronics.
