Synopsis
Series giving an overview ICD10 classification of psychiatric disorders. Each programme describes the characteristic features of a particular diagnostic area and looks comprehensively at the disorders within it. Shows a number of patient interviews, prior to which the characteristic features of the disorder are described, and points to look for are given, and related phenomenology in the respective patients noted. Following each interview, similarities and differences with other disorders are highlighted and discussed to facilitate differential diagnosis. Topics of individual programmes are: 1) organic disorders; 2) disorders due to psychoacitve substance use; 3) schizophrenia and delusional disorders; 4) mood disorders; 5) neurotic, stress-related and somoatoform disorders; 6) personality disorders; 7) self-assessment: test cases for discussion.
