Alaska and Canada from Space
- Synopsis
- Imaging satellites allow the recording of details of the terrain of remote areas with harsh climates which had previously inhibited detailed environmental mapping and research. The collection presents a variety of regional examples of geological structures, glacial erosional and depositional forms and pre-glacial features present in the extensive Canadian and Alaskan tundra and taiga environments. It also incorporates a selection of images that portray rural land usage and settlement patterns in sthe Canadian Prairies, lower Ontario and the St Lawrence Valley. Imagery from the LANDSAT programme.
