Alaska and Canada from Space

Synopsis
Imaging satellites allow the recording of details of the terrain of remote areas with harsh climates which had previously inhibited detailed environmental mapping and research. The collection presents a variety of regional examples of geological structures, glacial erosional and depositional forms and pre-glacial features present in the extensive Canadian and Alaskan tundra and taiga environments. It also incorporates a selection of images that portray rural land usage and settlement patterns in sthe Canadian Prairies, lower Ontario and the St Lawrence Valley. Imagery from the LANDSAT programme.
