Day Hospice, The

Synopsis
Looks at the work of the day hospice, using as an example St Luke’s Nursing Home in Sheffield. Set during a typical day at the hospice, highlights the contributions of the nursing and support staff - the transport co-ordinator, social worker, occupational therapist and physiotherapist, hairdresser, senior nurse and others. Shows the ways in which the patients spend their days, from doctor’s rounds and Holy Communion to the Christmas party and a fashion show. Ends with interviews with patients talking about the way in which day hospices such as St Luke’s can enrich the quality of their lives.
