COSHH and the Conservator
- Synopsis
- Shows how a new research project relating to conservation and archaeology is carried out to comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1988. This project is concerned with the cleaning and stabilisation of various artefacts, using a variety of chemicals. Special consideration has to be given to the unusual risks arising from work with hydrochloric acid. Some object are to be fumigated, and reference is made to the requirements of the Approved Code of Practice on fumigation operations issued by the Health & Safety Commission.
