Castleguard Cave
- Synopsis
- Castleguard is an alpine cave under the Columbia icefield in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. In 1973 a group of speleologists, led by Derek Ford, set out to explore this system. Demonstrates the rapidity of the erosion process when hydraulic gradients are high. Shows how, in alpine environments, aqueous solution competes with glacial and periglacial processing in the fashioning of caves.*
