Synopsis

An introduction to the phonetics of French which helps learners acquire basic knowledge relevant to both observing and reproducing features which constitute standard native speech habits. Covers the classic topic areas (e.g.rounded vowels, stress, rhythmic groups) and presents broad phonetic transcription. Also provides some listening comprehension and invites the learnings to consider the importance of this area of discipline. To be used by individual students; can be used in self-access mode, but is designed to integrate with other materials.
