World Water Resources

Synopsis
Examines global issues surrounding the world’s water resources - availability, distribution, access, consumption and challenges for the future - and uses three case studies to explore them: 1) China: the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River will be the largest dam and hydro-electric project in the world; 2) Israel: looks at the water conflict between Israel and Jordan and how water scarcity and politics are closely entwined. Describes various conservation strategies in an arid land; 3) Australia: shows a unique wastewater treatment project to offset the huge envrionmental costs of irrigation.
