Words and Sentences: A Case Study of Phonological Dyslexia
- Synopsis
- Case study showing a subject who can read aloud a wide variety of familiar words presented individually but cannot pronounce unfamiliar material such as nonsense words. Despite his good ability to read single words aloud, his oral reading of complex sentences breaks down. Linguistic processing appears to interfere with reading, demonstrating that more is needed for reading besides the ability to read isolated worlds aloud.
