Velocity of Gamma Rays, The

Synopsis
An experiment demonstrating the electromagnetic nature of gamma radiation. The gamma rays are obtained by bombarding a metal plate with deuterons secured in bursts from a cyclotron. The velocity of gamma rays is determined by transit time measurements involving the use of a detector, amplifier and scaler. Made to support the Nuffield A-level physics course.
