Utopia

Synopsis
The year is 2000. Existing towns and cities have become violent ungovernable places. The government has therefore decided to mark the turn of the century by establishing a project named Utopia 2000 - whose brief is to recommend a new ‘design for living’, a design for the buildings and spaces which should be provided in order to develop a sense of community and a better quality of life. The project team pick out the work of three important 19th-centruy Utopian thinkers - Owen, Fourier, and Morris. But the team’s initial view of what ‘community’ and ‘utopia’ imply is quickly challenged by two people whose night-time job it is to clean the building and who discover how to activate and communicate with the computer.
