Synopsis
A destroyed hip joint affected by arthropathies such as rheumatoid and osteoarthritis may require surgical treatment when medical measures have failed and the patient’s pain, stiffness and disability become severe. Such a patient features in the programme, which illustrates the technique of replacement by the posterior approach.
