Synopsis
The story of drama teacher Dorothy Heathcote, who left school at age 14 to go to work in a mill. At 20 she won a place at a theatre school with her fees paid by the mill owner and four years later she was a lecturer in educational drama at the University of Newcastle. The film shows her work on Tyneside with a variety of young people.
