Testing for Anti-Inflammatory Activity
- Synopsis
- Discusses the course of the inflammatory reaction and those features which are amenable to measurement. The rat paw oedema test is demonstrated as a method of assessing the acute response using carrogeenin as the irritant. The more chronic effects of adjuvant arthritis are discussed with the relative potencies of steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
