Sediment Problem, The

Synopsis
Introduces the processes of sediment erosion, transport and deposition, first, by looking into the natural conditions under which sediment moves from hills, valleys and river systems into the reservoirs, lakes and estuaries. Then shows examples of man’s influence on the denudation chain in the form of forestry, agriculture, urbanisation and mineral resource utilisation. The accelerated erosion processes intensify the sediment problem.
