Respiration Practical 1.0
- Synopsis
- A simulation of a laboratory practical which demonstrates how to: 1) measure total ventilation, respiratory frequency, and the composition of expired and alveolar gas under resting conditions; 2) calculate the tidal volume, physiological dead space, alveolar ventilation rate, oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production rates, and respiratory quotient from the results of A; 3 measure changes in alveolar gas composition due to hyper- and hypoventilation; 4) observe the effects of various respiratory manoeuvres on the duration of voluntary breath-holding. Intended to replace laboratory experiments. Approximately 40 minutes of teaching material.
