Synopsis
Opto-electronics is the technology of the conversion of light into electrical energy and of electrical energy into light. Looks at both the domestic and industrial applications including the Central Electricity Generating Board’s use of heat-sensitive cameras for inspection of the national grid, and how also ‘temperature maps’ are used in the design of new power stations.
