Nictitating Membrane of Cat (2 Parts)
- Synopsis
- Demonstrates the responses of the cat to blood pressure changes including heart rate and the smooth muscle responses of the nictitating membrane. Shows the sympathetic nerve innovation and the effects of certain catecholamines. Blood pressure is measured in the anaesthetised cat from the femoral artery. Tension is measured from both nictitating membranes, one intact and one denervated. The second part continues to demonstrate the effects of ganglionic blocking agents.
