Synopsis: A lecture given by American orchestral conductor Roger Nierenberg, assisted by the BBC Concert Orchestra, before an audience of Britain’s leading business people, in which he presents his revolutionary approach to the dynamics of leadership and communication within companies. Using the metaphor of a concert orchestra, Nierenberg analyses the dynamics of perspective, responsiveness and motivation in order to help senior business managers to: engage their workforce in the company’s vision; maintain a strong, clear vision of leadership in the face of daily pressures; identify the effects of perspective within a complex organisation; and focus everyone on the future and deflect them from complaining about the past.
