The selection of areas covered is based on the value of imagery for systematic and regional information content. Emphasis is placed on 1) the structural geology and primary landforms of the Australian interior and New Zealand; 2) land use and land cover characteristics of areas that are part of, or close to, the major metropolitan centres. Imagery from the LANDSAT programme.
