Synopsis
A television production of the Strindberg play. Miss Julie (Janet McTeer), the aristocratic daughter of a count, breaks off her engagement to a weak fiancé. Seeking consolation, she throws herself at her father’s virile young valet, Jean, at the servants’ midsummer dance. But she is playing with fire: Jean seduces her, and she soon finds herself completely within his power.
