Synopsis

Footage of the earth from space, including an ‘earthrise’ from the moon and a full circle of the earth taken from a space shuttle orbiting 180 miles above the earth. One can see coral reefs, entire seas, vast deserts, mountain ranges and cities lit up at night; also burning Kuwaiti oil wells in 1991, a tropical hurricane in the Caribbean, and a violent lightning storm.
