Synopsis
Looks at Keynes’ intellectual roots in Cambridge, his personal life, and his long public career as an adviser to governments. Examines the origins and central message of ‘The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money’ (1936). Concludes with an assessment of Keynes’ place in the development of economic thought, and an evaluation of the legacy of Keynsian economics is made by a panel of distinguished economists including five Nobel Laureates.
