Spend and Prosper
- Synopsis
- Profile of John Maynard Keynes, economist and patron of the arts, who died in 1946. Notes some of his policies which were in direct opposition to the monetarist policies of the Thatcher administration. More than a theoretical economist, he believed that there should be a moral basis to economics and that the state has a duty to patronise the arts. Includes interviews with Professor J K Galbraith, Professor Quentin Bell and Dame Ninette de Valois.
