Interpersonal Interactions / Team Building
- Synopsis
- Part 1 (29 min): Looks at interpersonal skills between a middle manager and a junior manager where the former needs to establish a relationship which will over time lead to improved performance by the latter. Takes the form of two reconstructed interviews based upon the actual experiences of two managers, one in the building industry and the other in the pharmaceutical industry.
Part 2 (13 min): Looks at a group of mental health workers employed by the Ravensbourne NHS Trust, who have formed an out-of-hours team to provide support for mentally ill patients in the community. Six months after establishing the team, they are meeting to try to improve their team working skills and learn from their experiences, particularly about how they are perceived by clients and other health workers. The team’s manager works with the group in an informal and apparently unstructured way, to encourage openeness and to learn from the group’s interactions with each other. - Series

- NB. As of May 2016 Open University Worldwide are no longer distributing DVDs. They have posted this message on their website: ‘Unfortunately Open University Worldwide Limited has decided that product sales are no longer viable given the reduced funding to Higher Education institutions and diminishing demand for the products we have traditionally stocked. At present the Open University Students Association (OUSA) will continue to sell the "Good Study Guide", and we are in discussion with other possible distributors to continue to make The Open University’s products available for purchase. As soon as we have any information on other channels of distribution we will update this notice’. Some products are still available via second hand dealers on Amazon.co.uk
