Synopsis
Outlines the development of the testes showing the fault which leads to the formation of hydrocele, i.e. the persistence of a narrow processus vaginalis which allows fluid to accumulate in tunica vaginalis but is not wide enough to allow bowel to enter and form the hernia. Principle of treatment of this is closure of processus vaginalis and the operation is demonstrated in detail.
