Synopsis
An account of good slaughter practice showing unloading and pre-slaughter handling sequences for sheep, cattle and pigs. Concentrates on humane stunning and slaughter techniques. Equipment shown includes captive bolt and concussion stunners, low and high voltage tongs, restrainer/conveyors with manual and automatic stunning, single restrainers and head-to-back stunning. (New slaughter regulations came into force on 5th July 1990.)
