Organised by the Department of Digital Humanities at King’s College London in collaboration with the University of Venice IUAV and Italian broadcaster RAI, ‘Future-proof AV content for education and research’ is a two half-day Presto4U workshop covering the main issues and challenges surrounding the digital preservation of audiovisual content in the academic domain.
This free workshop will bring together two of the emerging Communities of Practice identified within the Presto4U project, Learning & Teaching repositories and Research & Scientific Collections. Presenting a series of case studies and talks from experts within the field, including the ‘Spotlight on the Digital’ asset impact and discovery project, this Presto4U event will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about such topics as digitisation, AV formats, metadata, as well as gaining a broader knowledge of building business justification through uses cases and workflow analysis. There will also be plenty of networking opportunities and an overview of the Presto4U project outcomes.
Who should attend
Collections managers, academics, librarians, curators and archivists in higher education and research producing and preserving audiovisual content to support their teaching and scientific/research activities.
Learning objectives
