- The Conservative Party is licking its wounds after last night’s vote passed the European Communities (Finance) Bill despite Tory rebellion, Chris Whipp reports. Tory MPs who abstained have now had the whip withdrawn - Christopher Gill and John Wilkinson say they have no regrets over their action; Bill Cash explains why he voted for, despite being a Euro-rebel. Teddy Taylor has been concerned for his political future after voting against whilst Tory Chairman Jeremy Hanley has played down the rebellion.
