Description

A bomb was detonated in Stafford Street, Piccadilly, on New Year’s night. Members of the public - both those who celebrated at home and outdoors - describe the scenes of the blast. A Syrian diplomat and his a man thought to be his chauffeur were killed and were the obvious targets of the attack. Commander Jim Neville of Scotland Yard’s Anti-Terrorist Squad describes the car and the bomb, and speculates as to the reasons for the attack. Male reporter not identified.
