Description

Ian Bennett was shot dead by police at his flat in Rastrick, near Halifax, West Yorkshire after they mistook his replica guns for real ones. Jean Bennett, Ian’s mother, says the police were reckless and did not listen to her pleas. Assistant Chief Constable Bill Hughes, however, defends the police and says they were only doing what they had been trained to do. The Police Complaints Authority is investigating. Simon Israel reports.
