West Yorkshire Assistant Chief Constable Bill Hughes defends the actions of the police after marksmen shot Ian Bennett dead at his home in Rastrick, near Halifax, West Yorkshire. It is thought that Bennett had been threatening them with a replica gun. Investigations are underway as Jean Bennett, Ian’s mother, has complained that police ignored her pleas to let her help.
