Shakespeare’s Fire

Synopsis
Radio drama by Glynn Maxwell. On a hot summer day the King’s Men in Southwark are performing ‘The Life of King Henry VIII’. The same day in June the Globe theatre burned down. There are many eye witness accounts but unanswered question. Are rumours of royal involvement to be credited? Did the Burbages really do well out of the fire? What is the connection between these events and the end of the career of England’s most illustrious playwright? And where do a clown’s trousers come into all this?
