Synopsis
Television eight-part series in which on consecutive evenings actors perform extracts from Shakespeare’s plays and poems. Episode 6 - Stephen Tompkinson performs ‘If music be the film of love’ from Twelfth Night (I i), Benedict Wong performs ‘The barge she sat in like a burnished throne’ from Antony and Cleopatra (II ii), Charlies Brooks reads Sonnet 139 ‘O, call not me to justify the wrong that my unkindness lays upon my heart’, Delroy Atkinson, Ashley Campbell and Oliver Mason perform ‘O mistress mine’ from Twelfth Night (II iii), Mark Lamaar performs ‘O, that this too too solid flesh would melt’ from Hamlet (I ii), Tracy-Ann Oberman reads Sonnet 67 ‘Being your slave, what should I do but tend upon the hours and times of your desire?', Lucy Gaskell reads Sonnet 126 ‘O thou my lovely boy, who in thy power dost hold Time’s fickle glass’, Meera Syal performs ‘Love first learned in a lady’s eyes’ from Love’s Labour’s Lost (IV iii), Delroy Atkinson, Ashley Campbell and Oliver Mason perform ‘Sigh no more ladies’ from Much Ado About Nothing (II iii), Lemn Sissay reads sonnet 15 ‘When I consider everything that grows’, Seeta Indrani performs ‘Romeo, Romeo, wherefore out thou Romeo?' from Romeo and Juliet (II ii) and Kathryn Drysdale reads Sonnet 116 ‘Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediment’.
