Play synopsis: In this comedy, the penniless inventor Monsieur Rollo has a stormy relationship with his wealthy friend-enemy Carradine, to whom he is known as Patate ('Potato’).
Production history: Produced at the Oxford Playhouse by Frank Hauser, after which Henry Sherek brought it to London with the same cast. But it may have been performed for the first time in Paris, being a French play originally.
