Play synopsis

Comedy in which a senior clerk in a city firm has his long-held hopes of being promoted to General Manager dashed, just before he is to turn fifty. A much junior man is preferred for the post. Having devoted all his energies to the firm for twenty-seven years, John Meredith now looks to put himself before the firm and considers helping himself to the firm’s assets.
