Play synopsis

The action of this thriller takes place in Chief Inspector Tanner’s office at Scotland Yard and in the residence of the Lebanon family, in 1931. The criminal is revealed as the charming young Lord Lebanon who is a homicidal maniac strangling his nearest and dearest.

Production history

First staged at Wyndham’s Theatre on 18 August 1931 and published by Samuel French in 1932. Filmed for the cinema by director T. Hayes Hunter in 1932 and by director George King in 1940.
