- Although this BBC studio production was prepared and advertised in Radio Times, it was not in fact broadcast. Philip Hope-Wallace explained in The Listener: ‘The BBC, having in a unguarded moment booked The Unguarded Hour without its copyright, we were treated to a second help of Lionel Browne’s For Dear Life’ (7 April 1955, p. 633).

Of the repeated For Dear Life, Philip Hope-Wallace wrote: ‘I am bound to say [the production] stood up far better to second sight than I expected. The quality of the tele-film was excellent.'
