Play synopsis

A play about witchcraft and witch-hunting in 16th-century Norway. The play begins with a witch-hunt. The witch in question hides in the local pastor’s house. When she is discovered and dragged away she curses the pastor and his wife.

Production history

TV Times, 31 January 1958, p. 20 discusses its performance history on the stage: it had been first staged around fifty years earlier -- so, in the early 20th century -- with at least five performances in London and one in Liverpool.
