Play synopsis

Comedy. ‘The inhabitants of the Golden Fleece hotel in fashionable but dull Chelingate are very rich. For the most part they are also very bored. But when Molly Cudden, a chambermaid, is sacked - and finds that thanks to some lucky investments left her by an uncle she is a rich woman - the hotel is dull no longer’ (TV Times, 23 December 1955, p. 37).
