Play synopsis

The action of this three-act comedy takes place on a wet Monday in November in the sitting-room of George Kettle’s flat in Brickmill, a Midlands town: the middle-aged bank manager George Kettle gives up his job to pursue an affair with Delia Moon.

Production history

The Scandalous Affair of Mr Kettle and Mrs Moon had its UK premiere at the Pleasure Gardens, Folkestone on 22 August 1955; it transferred to the Duchess Theatre, London on 1 September 1955. But it was earlier than year staged in Copenhagen (Source: TV Times, 26 April 1947, p. 6).
