Lady Luck

Play synopsis: Three partners in a New York stockbroking firm have invested in the Lady Luck mine. They are celebrating with their friend Van Hoover, who manages the ‘Baby Face’ theatrical company. One of the actresses is sacked and replaced by a milliner’s assistant, Jane. Then the Lady Luck mine fails, before news arrives to say that an uncle of one of the stockbrokers has died and left him six million dollars as long as he marries all six of his widows (the uncle lived in Salt Lake City). The stockbroker marries the widows but thinks only of Jane - who he eventually marries after the marriages are annulled. And the mine comes good after all.
