Summary

1990 presentation of a 1971 production by Alan Schneider of Krapp’s Last Tape by Samuel Beckett, who had recently died, presented by Channel 4 in a series of programmes given under the banner Homage to Beckett: these included the documentary film Silence to Silence and a performance of Krapp’s Last Tape on 11 February 1990, the piece for television Eh Joe on 12 February, Footfalls on 13 February and Rockaby on 14 February.

Play synopsis

One-man play. It is Krapp’s 69th birthday. He takes out his old tape recorder and reviews a recording he made when he turned 39, reviewing the past year. He makes a new recording commenting on the last year.
