The BMA Library has one of the largest collections of medical films and videos in the UK, with material dating from 1924 to the mid-1980s. Film material from 1950 onwards and most of the video collections is available for loan. Most subject areas in medicine are covered, with the majority being most suitable for medical students and doctors. The audiovisual collection can be searched on the online catalogue.

Biographical site dedicated to the work of social psychologist Stanley Milgram, most celebrated (and controversial) for his experiments on obedience to authority, recorded on the 1962 film Obedience (distributed by the BUFVC). The site gives details of his publications and films.
This site is no longer active, but the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine offers a capture of the website as it appeared on 13/08/2016. This does not include access to the moving images.

The AHRB Centre for British Film and Television Studies, was created in October 2000 with five years funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Board (now Council), ‘to enhance and extend the recent growth in high level academic research on British Film and Television’. Its funding concentrated on financing Junior and Senior Research Fellowships and the website includes links to two of the major projects funded by the Centre: Moving History: an online guide to UK film and television archives in the public sector produced by the University of Brighton South East Film and Video Archive and British Artists’ Film and Video Study Collection, produced by Central St Martins College of Art and Design, as well as research reports on Dufaycolor, film and broadcasting policy submissions, and a response to the White Paper ‘A New Future for Communications’.There is also an archive of newsletters from the project produced between 2003- 2005.

The Radio Authority, now under Ofcom, used to license and regulate all commercial radio services in the UK. The website content has now been archived by The National Archives.

AMIA is a non-profit professional association established to advance the field of moving image archiving by fostering cooperation among individuals and organizations concerned with the collection, preservation, exhibition and use of moving image materials. The BARB website includes the latest weekly and monthly viewing data, arranged by Top 10, Top 30 and viewing by genre and channel group. A section on Catch-Up data features figures on monthly top 30 catch-up by audience and catch-up by percentage timeshifted.
There is also information on its new releases, statistical television related facts, methodological information about the Board’s work, summaries of information gathered about audiences’ viewing habits on a weekly or monthly basis, with results going back over two years.

The Royal Television Society represents over 4,000 members across the spectrum of the broadcasting industry and provides an independent forum where members can discuss any television related matter. The society also supports and promotes networking within the industry. The website has fairly basic content, but it does provide transcripts of lectures given at recent RTS events, and has a useful links page. Articles from the Society’s journal Television are available free online a month after publication.
