Founded in 2008, the IAI’s aims- in their own words- ‘to rescue philosophy from technical debates about the meaning of words and returning it to big ideas… Not in aid of a more refined cultural life, but as an urgent call to rethink where we are’. The website offers a wealth of resources including: The Philosophy for Our Times Podcast, a weekly programme tackling current ideas, and IAI Player which contains over a 1000 video debates and talks. Latest additions include: Corruption and Climate Change, The Fascination with Evil, The Limits of Logic, Return to Radical Feminism and Duchamp’s Deception. There is also IAI Education, which provides online courses aimed at pre-university students who have an interest in critical thinking.

The podcasts, which are available indefinitely, go back to 2010. Some of the personalities featured in early editions include pop icon Lady Gaga, fashion designer John Galliano and artist Ai Weiwei. Recent editions include, founder of Extinction Rebellion Dr Gail Bradbrook, biochemist Jennifer Doudna, and Sonita Alleyne, who is the first black woman to lead an Oxbridge college.

Spanning many genres, including classical, pop, rock, jazz and opera, and a variety of formats- from 78rpms produced in the 1900s to LPs from the 1980s-, the vast and valuable holdings of the Sound Archive at the Boston Public Library is now available for free via the Internet Archive. The collection can be explored by Year, Topics & Subjects, Language, Creator and Collection. Highlights include early American jazz and blues recordings, such as 11 sides from Paramount Records.

Set up in 1986, the LFA holds over 700 titles dating back to 1901. The collection illustrates different aspects of living and working in 20th Century Lincolnshire - from the agricultural and fishing industries, to seaside holidays and family life in the major towns and villages. Launched as a charity in 2002 and counting now with a membership of over 4,500 musicians and teachers, Sounds Connections supports the music education sector in London through partnerships and programmes across four key music specialisms: Challenging Circumstances, Early Years, Youth Voice and Sector & Workforce Development. The resources section of the website offers free access to Films, Briefing papers, Case Study, Handouts and Reports. Some of the films included are Inspire-music Pupil Clips, in which students from across the UK give their opinion about their ideal music lesson, and What’s that Noise?, about how to identify and support children’s musicality.

An excellent gateway into the treasures of the Korean Film Archive. This is their official YouTube Channel, which currently streams over 200 feature films for free. The list includes some of the country’s best known works such as the postwar drama Aimless Bullet (Hyun-mok Yoo, 1961), the acclaimed The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well (Sang-soo, 1996), and Chunhyang (Kwon-taek, 2000), which is considered to be the most famous pansori (musical) in Korea.
