German Expressionism

Synopsis
From "The Bridge" to "The Blue Rider" the authors trace the Expressionist Movement in Germany during the early 20th Century. Among others, German Expressionism showcases the key works of a North German oddball, a Bavarian animal lover and a man who had in fact dissociated from the Expressionists, but who could not escape their influence.
This DVD contains five short documentaries that look at; Gabriele Munter’s "Village Street in Winter", Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s "Five Women in the Street", Franz Marc’s "The Tiger", Mac Beckmann’s "Actors", and Emil Nolde’s "St. Mary of Egypt".
