Cubism and Futurism

Synopsis
CUBISM AND FUTURISM looks at the beginning of the 20th Century and how these two art movements revolutionised Western ways of seeing. Sceptical of the observable reality of the time, the European artists gave form to the multifarious nature of their perception and captured the dynamics of modern life. Whether they were woks that provoked media attention or just symphonies of colour, these masterpieces paved the way for modern art.
This DVD contains five short documentaries that look at; Robert Delaunay’s "Eiffel Tower, Camp de Mars", Jean Metzinger’s "At they Cycle-race Track", Kasimir Malevich’s "An Englishman in Moscow", Giacomo Balla’s "Abstract Speed Plus Noise", and Umberto Boccioni’s "Farewells".
